“The Storyteller’s Secret is a series of very short biographies, some of which repeat, which illuminate certain life lessons regarding storytelling. The obvious candidates are included: Steve Jobs, Joel Osteen, etc, but so are some new faces – Sting and a few executives I hadn’t heard of before. The mini-biographies of these people are told in sync with the story format taught in the book – background, trigger event, transformation, life lesson – and as such, it provides a highly readable model for storytelling that practices what it preaches. Overall, a very entertaining read, and one that I think I learned something from as well.
If I have one criticism, it’s that many of the life stories either repeat or are listed for separate “lessons” when they could very easily have been combined into one. This makes the book a little longer than it needs to be, but this doesn’t take away from the message. Overall, a 5-star book for sure.”
